This bamboo cultivar has an upright to arching habit with yellow stems (culms) up to 30 mm (1 1/8 in) in diameter and forms a clump. It has dark green lanced-shaped leaves that appear profusely along the stems.
This attractive hedge bamboo cultivar is grown for its tight up right clustered habit. It is planted along borders for screening or used as a wind break and as a tall hedge when mass plant. It can also be used in tubs and planter boxes. This vigorous non-invasive clumping bamboo is suitable for urban gardens or commercial landscapes requiring the pair was established in 2 to 4 years and is long lived.
